Authorizing Baltimore City to tow, remove, or impound a vehicle owned by a new resident of the State who fails to register the vehicle with the Motor Vehicle Administration and display valid registration plates issued by the Administration within 60 days.
This bill prohibits a District Court commissioner from issuing an arrest warrant to an individual other than a police officer or a State's Attorney. The bill also increases the incarceration penalty for making a false statement to a public official under § 9-503 of the Criminal Law Article from imprisonment for up to six months to imprisonment for up to three years; the bill retains the $500 maximum fine for that offense.
Authorizing the Board of License Commissioners for Baltimore City to issue a Class C beer, wine, and liquor license in a certain area of the 45th alcoholic beverages district in Baltimore City under certain circumstances; and altering a geographic boundary in the 45th district within which the holder of a Class A or Class B-D-7 beer, wine, and liquor license must operate in accordance with specified hours.
Establishing the Gun Violence Victim Relocation Program within the Victim Services Unit of the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy to provide certain victims of gun violence certain services and assistance related to relocating for the safety of the victim or the victim's family; establishing the Gun Violence Victim Relocation Program Fund; requiring the Victim Services Unit to establish a certain oversight commission; requiring the Unit to submit a yearly status report on the Program by December 1, beginning in 2027.
Requiring certain expedited proceedings in a wrongful detainer action if the property that is the subject of the action is, at the time of the complaint, advertised or listed for sale or lease by the complainant and requiring that notice of a hearing or appeal be served in person or, under certain circumstances, posted conspicuously on the property; etc.
Altering the circumstances under which an equity court is
authorized to grant visitation rights to a grandparent of a child to include that the petition for visitation rights was filed after an action for divorce, annulment, custody, or paternity was filed by a parent of the child; and requiring an equity court to grant certain visitation rights if the child resided with the grandparent for at least 12 months, or the child’s parent, who is the child of the grandparent, is deceased, and the court finds it in the best interest
of the child.
Providing that a person alleged to have committed an assault or
other intentional act causing bodily injury may not board a State
public transit service or enter a State public transit service station
for a certain period of time and under certain circumstances; and
establishing that a person who violates the Act is subject to
prosecution for trespassing etc.
